We had so much fun visiting Mr. Chris at Fire Station #8. Mr. Chris discussed fire safety rules and the importance of smoke detectors. He taught us that firemen are our friends and we should never hide from them if our house is on fire. He also taught us what to do if our clothes caught on fire. A special thank you to Anderson and Julian for demonstrating Stop, Drop, and Roll.

The Kissing Hand

The first day of school is a special day and we always provide our class with a special treat to let them know how much we care.

~~Kissing Hand Poem~~

A piece of me I give to you,
This special heart because
"I love you."
The heart is you, the hand is me,
It shows that we are

Reading Across Kindergarten with Dr. Seuss

During the month of March we studied about one of our favorite authors, Dr. Seuss. While reading his books, we looked for sight and rhyming words in them. We also studied word families. After reading his books we talked about where we like to read. Some of us read in the familiar places like in bed, on the couch, with our reading buddies or with mom...but there are some of us that like to read in the closet, in a tent, in a hideout or under the bed. Wherever you like to read...
"The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
I Can Read With My Eyes Shut (1978)
